..::ANIMATRIX::..

Movie 1: Final Flight of the Osiris
Length: 9:10

Starts off the Animatrix films with a hugely amazing start. I was in awe of the level of animation used for this short film. Basically there are two fighters plugged into the matrix who are training with Katana Swords and getting very sexual while blindfolded. This continues for a few minutes until an alarm goes off in the ship which the two are living on in the real world. Sentinel like robots are chasing the ship while all the crew fight. Once again I have to mention the graphical detail which has been used in this short film. And this is one of the movies which is easier to relate to the Matrix films themselves.

Movie 2: The second Renaissance Part One.
Length: 8:55

This second movie is based on how the matrix was first created. How artificial intelligence was first created to benefit mankind. This is a very Japanese style anime film. Probably because it is one. However it explains well exactly how and why the Matrix exists. This movie also includes some very gruesome scenes where humans get their faces ripped apart and robots get there circuits fried. Very high in nudity and violence but makes up for the crap with some good background information.

Movie 3. The second Renaissance Part Two.
Length: 9:04

As you can tell this is the second part of the previous movie. This movie really gets into the parts of when the Machines rose up and over powered man. And man still in blindness believe the machines could be defeated by blowing up the atmosphere. Of course if you have seen the Matrix movies you will know what I'm talking about.

Movie 4: Kid's Story
Length: 9:19

Remember the young boy Neo meets from "Matrix Reloaded" and then more in depth in Revolutions. Well this is the story of him and how he escaped from the matrix. This film is a very well done sketch and frame built picture with some good music and a good story line. It even has Neo in it, because he is the one who saved the boy from the Matrix.

Movie 5: Program
Length: 7:04

This film is about two friends, a male and a female. They live in time when the Matrix was first created. She asks to spar with her friend he agrees. Then he asks her to go back to the Matrix with him. Kind of like the Bald guy from the first Matrix. Lots of arguments about the red pill and whats realy, ya know, same old thing. She obviously does not want to go back so he tries to kill her. Looks kind of like a Final Fantasy Film. Then the girl finds out the whole temptation to go back to the matrix was just a program created to check wether she was trust worthy, of course she kicks his ass at the end.

Movie 6: World Record
Length: 8:33

Ok this film really annoyed me, it was kinda boring. Although some of my friends reckoned it was their favourite. I don't know the animation just didn't appeal to me and the story was kinda crap and unbelievable even for the Matrix. Its the story of this athlete who possesses the power to leave the matrix himself through his speed as a runner. The story explains that the people who become aware of the matrix are different and have special intuitions. They also explain that some discrete few athletes who are physically better cause glitches in the matrix which give them the ability to leave as well. The guy in this film Dan manages this. So yeah enough on that one.

Movie 7: Beyond
Length: 12:37

This is another of my favourites of the Animatrix collection, very good animation and once again very Japanese. The story of this film has some real imagination. It features a tear in the matrix system, which is situated in an abandoned block. A group of kids find that some pretty peculiar thigns are possible in this area. So anyway some agents come and close the area and its all over. But this was a really good one.

Movie 8: A detective story
Length: 9:30

Very old school black and white comic animation. Beautifully crafted and with another great story. A detective is lead to be searching for "Trinity" by a group of Agents. Trinity is known as a hacker in the Matrix so this is what the Detective looks for. Trinity is also known as the Red Queen. Lots of mystery in this film and really had me interested.

Movie 9: Maticulated
Length: 15:38

The longest Animatrix Film, and certainly the strangest. It has a small monkey, some weird robots, tracksuits, nudity, and lots of colours. Kind of like the movie Tron but as a cartoon and alot weirder.
